What Issues Are Most Important to YOU?

Please complete the Washington State PTA 2020 Advocacy Survey. There’s a wide range of issues including health, education, and welfare of children and youth. We need your voice to help our PTA delegates vote on the Top 5 issues. Your replies will guide us when we vote at the upcoming WSPTA Legislative Assembly in late October. First Virtual Principal Coffee

Medina Elementary School's first Virtual Principal Coffee will be on Wednesday morning, September 23, 7:30-8:00. Please, fill out a questionnaire here by 3 pm Monday afternoon and look for an invite to this event in your student's Teams account. 

Runner Club - Orange Route Released!

We are releasing our newest running map, the ORANGE ROUTE, which will be available until Tuesday, October 6!  Please make sure it is safe to exercise outside before completing the route.

There are SEVEN course markers (lawn signs) with silly questions for you to find along the route. After your run, submit your answers online here to earn an orange foot token.

Math Club - Registration is Closed

Thank you to everyone who registered for Math Club! Math Club is full and registration is closed. If you would like to be added to the waitlist, please complete the "Math Club Waitlist" form in your Family's Account Page by Tuesday, September 22. We will contact you if a spot opens up or if we are able to expand enrollment (possibly in January).

Reading Club

The results for the first week of Reading Club are in....drumroll please... Medina Tigers you have read an amazing 10,056 minutes in just one week alone! Let's see if we can get even more students participating next week.

Don't forget to log your daily reading minutes on the Reading Logs found on the PTA website here and submit them every MONDAY. This month's prizes include cool science kits and books.

Mental Health Strategies for Parents during COVID-19

As parents, we are struggling to balance work, child care and self-care while keeping both your children’s worries and our own under control. You don’t have to do it alone! Join us on Thursday, September 24th at 7:00 pm for a Zoom Webinar with Family Therapist Kathleen Goodman. She will be focusing on parent's own social and emotional well-being as we look to support the social and emotional development of our kids during remote learning. This unique opportunity will provide a 40 minute presentation and an hour to answer all your questions. Please email in advance your questions to: advocacy@medinapta.org. All questions will be answered anonymously.

Supplemental Super Sweet Supply Swing-By

Not able to make it to the Supply Swing-By yesterday?  We've got you covered! Come by: 

Friday, 9/11, 11:00 am to 7:00 pm

Saturday, 9/12 10:00 am to 7:00 pm

• The pickup will take place at the front of the school. 
• Families/students should look for their teacher's labeled box and take the appropriate materials.  Teachers will be specific if they have more than one item (ex: manila envelope with books and bag of supplies) and boxes will be labeled with specifics of what to take as well.

Families MUST come during the scheduled times as some of these materials will be utilized in lessons next week!
