Walk to School Day
Our GREEN ROUTE included our usual Walk to School Day path, finishing at Medina Elementary School. We were joined in spirit by our city leaders: Mayor Jessica Rossman (right) and Deputy Mayor Cindy Adkins (left).
Next year, we hope to walk to school together again and resume our tradition of walking with officers of the Medina Police Department. Mark your calendars! The next Walk to School Day is October 6, 2021!
This year, in honor of Walk to School Day, the questions on our course markers included Medina-specific questions! Check out the results below.
Results
Our runners found seven course markers: three with silly questions! Here are their answers:
Would you rather play at Medina Park or Medina Beach Park?
Winner: Medina Beach Park (53%)
I would rather play at Medina Beach Park, because I like to play with sand.
- Alyssa (3rd Grade)
I would rather play at Medina Beach Park, because I like to paddleboard there. It is fun.
- Ethan (4th Grade)
2. At recess, would you rather play on the field or on the playground?
Winner: On the Field (71%)
I would rather play on the field, because we get to play soccer, play catch and do all sports.
- Caleb (2nd Grade)
I would rather play on the playground, because I like monkey bars and I could play hide and seek with my friends.
- Nathaniel (3rd Grade) in dissent
3. For school lunch, would you rather eat waffles or pizza?
Winner: Pizza (56%)
I would rather eat pizza, because the waffle line is too long!
- Emily (4th Grade)
I would rather eat waffles, because the pan pizza has too much sauce and it gets on my shirt.
- Chelsea (2nd Grade) in dissent
4-7. Finish the sentence
The final four course markers included sentence fragments that, put together, formed this sentence:
A tiger named Pawlie played Gaga Ball with Dr. Harvey.
Picture that!!
