Please respect our volunteers’ time by picking your child up promptly at 1:25 (pick up for Advanced class is 1:50). We're charge $1/minute for late pick. And three late picking ups (or one extended late picking up) will result in exclusion of the student.

If you wish to permit your child to sign him/herself out from class and walk/bike home, you must complete the Medina Elementary Chess Club Permission Slip to Walk/Bike Home found on our website, medinapta.org, and return it to our Chess Club CO-Chairs.

BEHAVIOR

All participants are expected to be respectful and cooperative. We can exclude a student from the club meetings (after sufficient warnings) if we feel the student's behavior is disturbing other students.

ABSENCES

We take the safety of your children seriously. If your child will not be at chess club, please email chessclub@medinapta.org prior to that day’s chess class start time. Two unexcused absences will result in removal of the student from the club without refund.

Our Medina chess scholars had a great day and took FIFTH place in the 1st-3rd grade section and THIRD place in the 4th-6th grade section. GOOD JOB!

We had a special guest Megan Lee at the tournament. Megan Lee is former National Girls Youth Champion and current member of Seattle Sluggers, and has played against/with some of the worlds best! Megan gave an inspirational speech to the girls and played chess with them briefly.
