Presidents' Message

Hello Medina Community,

Only 15 school days left in the year and let’s begin with our ABC countdown to summer! We will start Monday with the letter A and double up some of the letters so our kids can have double the fun!

This week will be a busy week. Come and join us Wednesday night for Medina’s K-4th Spring Music Concert.

Our last General Assembly meeting of the year will be Thursday June 6 at 6 pm in the Art Room. We will be voting on next year's board members and budget, as well as presenting our Golden Acorn awards to parents who have gone above and beyond in their volunteer efforts and who will be graduating out with their students.

We will have a supervised movie night for our kids in the Multi-Purpose room at the same time as the General Assembly meeting. We will be showing How to Train Your Dragon 3: The Hidden World. Free admissions! Free popcorn! And Free pizza!

Every kid's favorite day of school, Field Day, is this Friday. Our Field Day Chair Anita Bagga has been working hard to make it a fun day for the kids, and she’s still looking for volunteers. Please sign up at the link below.

This Friday and Saturday, we will have our first annual all-school rummage sale, the Medina Elementary UPCycle! Do your spring cleaning and support a good cause!

Thank you and Have a great week!

Join us in the first ever Medina Elementary UPCycle!

Want to find a great way to both help our school AND do a bit of spring cleaning? Join us for the inaugural Medina Elementary UPCycle!

Join us on Field Day, June 7th, where we’ll be holding the first annual all-school rummage sale, the Medina Elementary UPCycle!  Items you and your neighbors donate will be for sale immediately following the Field Day activities for families of Medina Elementary.  On Saturday, June 8th, we’ll open the rummage sale to the general public.

All proceeds raised will go towards Medina Elementary special programs, and all unsold items will be delivered to various local outreach programs.

To make it easy, we have a few volunteer dads who’ve happily agreed to pick up and deliver to the school.  If you’d like your items picked up (morning of Friday, June 7th), please send an email to ian.olsen@rate.com.  Please include your name, address and items to be picked up.  If you plan on bringing donations to school yourself on Friday morning, there will be volunteers ready to receive them.

We are looking for gently used items in good condition, such as:

  1. Furniture
  2. Working yard equipment
  3. Tools (large or small)
  4. Sporting goods
    1. Lacrosse goals, basketball hoops, balls, bikes, etc.
  5. Functional kitchenware
  6. Storage containers

If you know of any neighbors who have anything they’d like to contribute, please let them know.  This is an easy way to help one another and raise funds for our school.

We know the families of Medina Elementary are amazing at coming together in community - we look forward to seeing you at Medina Elementary UPCycle!

Every kid's favorite day of school is just around the corner. Field Day is June 7th from 1pm-2:15 pm. Below is the sign up for volunteers.....we still have several spots open and would love to see parents from each grade sign up.
