Presidents' Message

Hello Medina Community!

A huge thank you to many of you who joined the Bellevue School Foundation Spring for Schools Luncheon last Friday and donated generously to BSF. Thank you for supporting the Bellevue community and its goal to ensure an exceptional education for every student. And for those of you who couldn't make it, we would also like to say thank you. Your donation to Medina PTA allowed us to contribute generously to BSF, and Medina Elementary was the only school recognized at the Salutatorian Sponsors level this year. Go Tigers!

The Talent Show last Friday was a huge success. Every child was a star and shined! Thank you Eileen Foley and Alicia Alibhai for all your hard work and dedication!

This coming week is Staff Appreciation week. Please show your support and love for our amazing teachers and staff! We are grateful for their hard work and the experiences that they share with our children every day.

Math Adventure is this Friday, May 10th. This year's Secret Agent theme will sure bring a lot of fun for the kids while they try to solve math puzzles.

Have a great week!

Our Medina Chess Club have exciting news to share about the 2019 Washington State Chess Championship tournament that took place this past Saturday in Tacoma, WA.

Our Medina Team has more than 40 players who worked hard throughout the year to qualify for the state championship tournament. After a grueling 5 rounds of chess playing,  Medina Team claimed the FIRST place in the Grade 1-3 Team Division (a 3-peat) and SECOND place in the Grade 4-6 Team Division. In addition,  our 1st grader Ethan Z, 2nd grader Hanbin W and 4th grader Derin G scored a perfect 5.0 to become co-champions of their grade divisions. We are proud to have such a talented and competitive young team and are looking forward to great results from this team for years to come.
