Presidents' Message

As we finish the first three months of school, it is great to see the many events and programs in which our community has participated. Whether you joined us for beginning of the year playdates and brunches, Back to School day, our ice cream social, the amazing Dance-a-thon, movie night, a Sounders game or your children participated in drama or tech classes or the Missoula Children's Theatre experience or is a member of the chess or math club, we are proud of what our membership has been able to plan and support. We cannot list everything here as volunteers help in every aspect of our school; in classrooms, on picture day, helping our students have their vision and hearing screenings, staff appreciation events, library and book fair, and so much more. For those who have the time to volunteer, we cannot thank you enough. Your dedication enhances our children's experience daily and elevates Medina to the great school it is today. For those of you have generously made donations to the PTA, we again cannot thank you enough. Without the funds to fulfill our promises to our school, again our children would not have the opportunities we are providing.

We would love to see 100% of families participating in the PTA. If you haven't already, we encourage you to join the Medina PTA. Your membership in the PTA shows our community that you support the work that our PTA is doing to build on and enrich our children's educational experiences through programs, activities, and personnel as well as building a feeling of community at Medina Elementary.

As we look forward to the next three months with ski bus, continuing our clubs and classes, movie nights, class parties and more staff appreciation, we know that with your help and support, we can provide our children the best early education experience possible.

Thank you for all you do,

Tracy and Anita

The ice rink is a temporary structure at the Bellevue Downtown Park in Downtown Bellevue, just south of Bellevue Square. It features the region’s largest covered open-air ice (real frozen water) skating experience, a tent covers the rink surface for those days when it is raining. In addition, there is a heated tent adjacent to the rink for those who would like to visit without skating can enjoy watching while keeping warm. A concession stand offers hot chocolate, along with other treats, to keep your hands warm.

Admission to the rink is $14/person (includes skate rental), $10/person for ages eight and under.

Interested in learning how to skate? Visit the ice arena December 12-14, January 2-4 and 9-11 between 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. courtesy of Overlake Medical Center, to learn how to skate from the pros!  Medina Wine Club

Are you a wine lover who enjoys discovering rarer wines from the NW? Would you like Medina Elementary PTA to receive a donation when you purchase something you already enjoy?

Medina Wine is offering Medina families either a 4 or 6 bottle monthly wine club. The wine selection is curated from exclusive releases not available in stores. They have committed to making a sizable donation per wine club membership. While you can purchase this as a gift as well, all deliveries must be in the Medina/downtown Bellevue areas. Thanks to Medina Wine for this commitment to their community. Please fill in Wine Club Medina Order From to submit your order !

There is a call for any working laptops, ipads or tablets that can be donated to the school. If you are upgrading this year, please consider an in kind donation to the school's tech program of your old machine. It will be wiped clean of everything but the operating system.  If you are interested in making this generous donation, please contact Shafiqa Darani at

You should have received an email with lesson and season pass sign up information by this time, if you registered for Ski bus. Please contact us if you have not received this email, and we will send it to you. Also if you plan to drive your child up please contact us as well and we will send the lesson and pass information as well.

What's New This Week

Looking For A Creative Volunteer

We are hoping to find someone who is creative and good with visual projects.  The school would like to create a wall, for our community to see and reference, of all of our full staff, pictures, names, and jobs.  We have an interested staff member who will be a point person as well and would love to find a parent volunteer who has an interest in this. Please contact if you are interested.
