YOU CAN DANCE! YOU CAN JIVE! YOU’LL BE HAVING THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE…at the 2nd annual Dance-a-thon fundraiser, which our school will be kicking off on Friday, September 29th.   Information and donation forms will be sent home in a packet with the students on the 29th.   We will have three weeks to reach our goal of $55,000 to help fund Instructional Aides, Technology Resources, Curriculum Enhancements and so much more for our school.

We have so much fun planned for the kids during the event this year.  During the week of October 16th, we will have a DJ coming to school to teach the kids some fancy dance moves which they will be showcasing for all on the evening of Friday, October 20th at Dance-a-thon Family Night.  Also, that night, in keeping with our Brighter Future theme, not only will our kids be glowing, but so will everything else, including glowing games, face painting, shirts and décor.  Gift baskets will be awarded that night, as well as, a pair of Seahawks tickets.

There will be food trucks on the premises to purchase food, so no need to cook or clean that night.

Volunteers for the week will be needed and appreciated.  If you are interested in helping out, please check out the following SignUp Genius link for volunteer opportunities.  There is a volunteer schedule for parent dance instructors on this link as well.

If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact Ian Olsen at .

Don’t forget about corporate matching if you’re able to do so!

National Walk to School Day 10/4

Please join us this Wednesday, National Walk to School Wednesday, as we kick off the drive to help get our children moving before school starts.   If you would like to meet us at Medina Park (near the playground) around 7:45am we will have some stickers and pencils for the children and we can all walk the remaining way to school, via the back of the park.  Medina Police and someone from Town Hall will also try to join us.  We have invited the mayor and hope he will be able to join us.

Walk to School Day is a global event that involves communities from more than 40 countries walking and biking to school on the same day. It began in 1997 as a one-day event. Over time, this event has become part of a movement for year-round safe routes to school and a celebration – with record breaking participation – each October. Today, thousands of schools across America – from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico – participate every October. See you there!
