Meet Other  Parents

Medina Elementary has a wonderful tradition of having grade level brunches at the beginning of the school year. The brunches provide parents with an opportunity to reconnect after the summer break and also for new and existing parents to connect in an informal setting. These events are a great way to build community. These events are FREE, but we do ask that you RSVP. You will get the Host’s address when you RSVP. Looking forward to seeing you there!

The remaining brunches are:
1st Grade: September 28th at 5:30pm. Hosted by Amy Bacon, Liz Quinn, Michelle Razore & Stephanie Thaut at Thaut Home. RSVP here.
4th Grade: September 29th from 10am -12pm. Hosted by the Zhangs & Lyn Jenkins at Liming & Ruipin Zhang home. RSVP here

YOU SHOULD BE DANCING, YEAH!  And you soon will be! Our Dance-a- thon team is gearing up to bring our Medina Community tons of fun at our 2nd annual Dance-a-thon fundraiser which our school will be kicking off on Friday, September 29th. We will have three weeks to reach our goal of $50,000 to help fund Instructional Aides, Technology Resources, Curriculum Enhancements and so much more for our school.

We have so much fun planned for the kids during the event this year. During the week of October 16th , we will have a DJ coming to school to teach the kids some fancy dance moves which they will be showcasing for all during the lunch periods and on the evening of Friday, October 20th at Dance-a- thon Family Night. Also, that night, in keeping with our Brighter Future theme, not only will our kids be glowing, but so will everything else, including glowing games, face painting, shirts and décor. Gift baskets will be awarded that night, as well as, a pair of Seahawks tickets.

There will be food trucks on the premises to purchase food, so no need to cook or clean that night.

Volunteers for the week will be needed and appreciated. If you are interested in helping out or would like more information, please contact Ian Olsen at

What's New This Week

Library Volunteers

Library volunteers are still needed for the following classes:  Lee, McClelland/Johnson, Muller, Lavaris, Seery, Morgan, Tenace, Ptak, McQuade and Wright.  If your child is in one of these classes and you’d like to help in the library, please email Carrie Browne and Rebecca Johnston (your library co-chairs) at  There are times available during your child’s library time, or in the morning, helping to check in and shelve books.  Some classes need more than others, so if we respond that your class is full, please consider the non-class specific, morning check-in role.  Thank you!

To help in the library, training is required and is handled by the library co-chairs. Those who sign up to volunteer will be contacted about the date and time of the training.
