PTA General Assembly Meeting

Join us at our first General Assembly Meeting and Welcome Back Coffee on Tuesday, 9/5, at 8:10 a.m. in the school cafeteria right after the morning drop-off.

Get Ready for School Calendars
First Day of School

The first day of school for students in grades 1-5 is on Thursday, 8/31/17. The first day of school for kindergarten students is on Tuesday, 9/5/17.


School Picture Day is Friday September 15, 2017. Pre-orders for picture packages may be placed directly through  MyLifetouch website.

2017-18 School Supplies

School supply lists can be found on the school website. You can get a hard copy of the school supply list or access a direct link to Amazon to purchase the supplies. Furthermore, if you buy your supplies via our Amazon Smile page, 0.5% of your purchase will go to our school.

Student Placement Notifications

Classroom assignments will be e-mailed to families on Monday, 8/28. If you do not receive an email with your child’s class placement by end of day on Monday the 28th, you can email Laurie Harvey or you can find out at the Back to School Day on 8/29.

You can find the monthly Bellevue School District calendar HERE on the district website. There is also the entire calendar for the 2017-18 school year.

Building Community for a Brighter Future!



Our fall fundraiser is a favorite event of students and parents alike.  After one week of dance training during school, the kids will show off their fun, new dance moves during lunch recess and at the Family Dance Night on Friday, 10/20, at 6:00 pm.

Our goal this year, is not only to raise $50,000 for our school, but also to Build our Medina Community.  Having parent involvement in our activities is an easy way to do that.  We’ll be looking for volunteers to help out - watch for opportunities to sign up at Taking Care of Business/Back to School day and in future Byte issues.  Donations are now being accepted on the TCOB page. (Feel free to pass the link on to family and friends.)   Our goal is $100 per student, but any amount is welcome and APPRECIATED.  If you have any questions or would like more information, email

Family Ice Cream Social

It's "make your own sundae"... ! Join us on Thursday, 9/7, from 6:30 to 7:30 pm at Medina Elementary for the Family Ice Cream Social. Come reconnect with old friends and also make new ones. It's a great way for kids to spend time with family and friends. We look forward to seeing you there! We would be grateful for any donations of nut-free toppings. We will have a collection box near the office one week prior to the event.

PTA Membership

Join the Medina PTA. Membership dues are $14 or $26 for families AND you’ll receive a free directory with each membership. Our goal is to have 100% participation through our parent community!

PTA Volunteering

We have key PTA volunteer roles that need to be filled so that we can continue to offer our great programs and events. Check out our Medina PTA Volunteer Opportunities webpage for more information and to access the volunteer form.

Room Parent Volunteering

Just a reminder to give some thought to being a room parent this year. This is not only a great way to be involved in your child's classroom, but a great way to support our teachers. We've worked really hard to pare down and simplify some items to make being a Room Parent a bit easier. Taking Care Of Business

Back to school means Taking Care of Business (TCOB)! Use the QR Reader on your mobile device and scan here to purchase your PTA Membership, sign up for Back to School brunches, and preorder yearbooks, or you can go to the TCOB page on the PTA website. The TCOB form will also be available on Back to School Day, and you can access it online as a PDF file, which you can print out and turn in to the school office. If you plan to purchase PTA items on Back to School Day, please bring your checkbook as we are unable to accept cash or credit cards at the event. 

Yearbook Class Photographers & Contributors 

Calling all photographers! There are a lot of events to start the school year so we would like to encourage early sign-ups for yearbook classroom photographers. Each class needs 1-2 photographers to take photos for the yearbook. Capture fun moments in the classroom and at recess and special events. Contributors are also welcome to submit photos of students, staff, and teachers in everyday moments and during activities throughout the school year. Calling all 5th- 8th grade Girls!

Do you love to play basketball?

Tryouts for Bellevue girls Select Basketball will be held on September 23rd.

Potential players need to live within the Bellevue High School boundary (but don’t need to attend Bellevue public schools).
